Introduced in the Mid 1960’s by Bethlehem Car Works, These new cars were introduced with flush decks, which simplified trailer loading, and also made it possible to fit special equipment on board. Collapsible hitches and bridge plates were standard with the first generation of Flush-Decks.

During 1982 many railroads, including Trailer Train, Santa Fe, FEC and Southern Pacific began a modernization program to retrofit the flat cars for Twin 45. During the retrofit, collapsible hitches and bridge plates were also removed

Our Flush-Deck comes with bridge plates to allow modeling of early cars. The top deck comes with the sides pre-bent allowing for a quick build. Requires Trucks and Z-Scale couplers. Accepts the MLE Hitches.
